Christmas in Amelia Island

It’s Friday and Christmas Eve Eve!!  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year! I love being with family and it really is the most cheerful holiday. Our Christmas plans are…

Sweater, Jeans, Sunnies, Barefoot

Tonight we celebrate with my extended family (Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins)…there are about 20 of us! We just do all appetizers and open presents, it’s seriously my favorite meal of the year. I would much rather pick on all different types of foods rather than one big meal. Tomorrow (Christmas Eve) we will be heading out to Epcot with Brian parent’s and sister for the candlelight processional (so good if you have never been). Christmas morning will be at my moms house and then a movie/dinner with all my family again! I know, it’s a lot!

Would love to hear what you guys have planned for Christmas! Let us know in the comment section!

Now onto our Amelia trip. My husband, Brian travels a ton for work, which you may have picked up on since I travel a lot with him. So a couple times a year we try and plan a vacation where he is not working and we can spend the whole time exploring together. We were supposed to go to Seattle and Vancouver but a few business opportunities have come up and we just didn’t want to spend that kind of money. Instead we just drove 2 hours to Amelia Island and had a great low key time.

The island is way bigger than we expected! We stayed at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation which is right on the water and every single room is oceanfront. Is is a gorgeous hotel but I highly recommend requesting to stay in the newest section of the hotel. The downtown Fernindina Beach area was the absolute cutest! All the trees were decorated for the holidays and it was just magical driving into it. They have great shops, restaurants and bars. We were told to try out Timoti’s Seafood Shak, and it was so so good!

Chelsey and I wish you all a Merry Christmas! Enjoy and stay safe! We will have our next post here on Tuesday!

xx – Jocelyn
